Friselle Toast uses sustainably caught Wild Planet skipjack tuna and anchovies along with sweet farm cherry tomatoes, capers, fresh garlic, red onions and basil. This toast is a delicious and nutritious snack or meal that takes no time to make and brings your taste buds instantly to Naples!

Ingredients

    For the bread:

  • 2 slices of crusty bread of choice 

  • 1 Garlic clove

  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil 

  • Salt and Pepper to taste 

  • For the Tuna salad:

  • 2 (5oz) cans Wild Planet Skipjack Wild Tuna

  • 1 (4.4oz) can Wild Planet Wild White Anchovies in Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • 1 cup Cherry Tomatoes, quartered 

  • 1 Tbsp Capers, rinsed 

  • 2 Tbsp Red Onions, chopped 

  • 3 Tbsp Olive Oil

  • Basil leaves, chiffonaded

  • 1/2 of a lemon

  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Slice and season bread with olive, salt and pepper and toast it; set aside

  2. Pull 3 anchovies from the can and de-bone, if desired. Mix tuna fish, anchovies, capers, onions, olive oil, basil chiffonade, olive,  salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Rub a peeled garlic clove on the toasted bread and top it with tuna salad, squeeze some lemon juice and drizzle olive. Enjoy the taste of Naples!
